Our LED15 and LED25 canister systems offers the power of HID with the reliability, durability and efficiency of LED technology. These systems offer a concentrated beam that is preferred for exploration diving. Powered with a Lithium-ion Polymer rechargeable battery, the LED15 burns at 1000+ lumens of brightness for 6 hours while the LED 25 burns at 1250+ lumens of brightness for 8 hours. The single LED offers the advantage of a long 20,000 hour life and the 8 degree beam width is much tighter than multi-LED arrays. The design is preferred by Technical divers for signaling purposes. Sidemounters – Optional 90 degree version is also now available for applications where rear mounting your canister is necessary.

The 5th Medex 2012 which is the biggest fair of the Mediterranean held in Istanbul Fuar Merkezi (Istanbul Expo Center) on April 05-08, 2012. Aup was represented in style by Deep Store, owned and operated by Tarkan and Eva Sevincli.  Our AUP loyal distributors since 20 years have really out done themselves this year.  A large 60 sq/m booth showing Oceanic, Aeris, Hollis and Lavacore.  We were proud to show the Prism 2 Rebreather sample to a large crowd.  Shawne Stanley, our European Export manager, was on hand to explain the features of the Prism along with the help of Dr. S. Murat Egi.  This year held its first dealer meeting during the show and we thank the numerous shops and persons that joined us for that.  Great job AUP Turkey!!!!!

The American Underwater Products booth at SPOEX Show: Oceanic, Hollis were all new and well represented at our booth. Especially, SMS50 and SMS100 were the most interesting products in the show. We made a dummy diver with Hollis products and many attendees interested in the dummy. With a constant flow of attendees going through the exhibit, AUP had easily one of the busiest booths at the show.

New Products Launching Seminar at SPOEX Show: We held New Products Launching Seminar for our dealers. We gave efficient sales points and marketing target and dealers were very satisfied with the seminar. This seminar will be held regularly for our dealers in 2012.

Side Mount System Technical Seminar at SPOEX Show: We held Side Mount System Technical Seminar by MR. Jeong who is Director of Technologies of WOOJUNGSA. We introduced and presented advantages of side mount system, SMS50 and SMS100. Increasing the interest in side mount system in Korea, many dealers attended this seminar. We will also hold this seminar regularly for our dealers in 2012.

New Patriotic Themed Product Line Demonstrates Commitment to Supporting Veteran’s Programs Across our Country

Oceanic is pleased to present our USA product line, hitting the shelves this summer. This initiative has been in the planning stages for years and has finally come to fruition. Throughout the years Oceanic has supported the myriad of programs that engage our injured military personnel and introduce them to the sport of diving. This year it was time to launch our own signature program. With the funding made available from the sales of the USA product line, Oceanic hopes to reach and support many more of these veterans than previously possible.

The USA product line is attractively styled, appropriately in red, white, and blue. 7% of Oceanic’s sales from the USA line will be committed each year towards this program. We anticipate that this program should provide
$250 to each of 300-350 qualified veterans. The $250 will be applied directly to the veterans gear purchases through our participating Oceanic Dealers Nationwide.

It’s a great feeling to know that you are giving back to those who gave so much; thanks to them we are able to enjoy the freedoms that we do.

Last month we had the Our World Underwater dive show in Chicago.  The show was a lot of fun because I was able to meet up with old friends and make new friends.   It was great seeing everyone come to the AUP booth to stop by to say hi and check out all the new gear they have come out with.   While we were at the show, we watched many amazing videos that some of my friends had put together for the Saturday night film festival.  These photographers/videographers included the world famous Ernie Brooks, Bill Fisher and Joe Romiero from 333 Productions, Jonathan Bird, Michel Gilbert and Danielle Alary, Nancy McGee, Annie Crawley, and many others.  They all had great films and pictures to share with everyone.  It was an amazing night.

In the beginning of this month, we had The Boston Sea Rovers Show in Boston. The show was very good and they had lots of great workshops and seminars.  The seminars were very informing and interesting.  Sea Rovers also had a great film festival on Saturday night as well.  It was great seeing everyone again in Boston.

The next BIG upcoming show is Beneath the Sea in Secaucus, NJ.  This show will run from March 23rd-25th.  I am really excited for this dive show because it is my favorite one to attend and volunteer for.  On Friday the 23^rd, we have a program called Marine Careers.  This program is for high school and college students who are interested in going into the marine career field.  It also teaches the students about scuba diving and conservation with key note speakers and many different workshops.  This goes from 9:00am-5:00pm and after the Marine Careers Program, the students can check out all the great exhibitors we have at the show, And my FAVORITE, “American Underwater Products.”

Friday night they have a gala called the Fish and Famous dinner in which everyone comes together and shares all their adventures they had throughout the year.  During the night, the world famous Wetsuit Band performs.  All the band members are either photographers or videographers that usually show there films and pictures at the film festival on Saturday night.  These guys are pretty awesome… LOL!!!

Saturday night is when we have the Awards and Banquet dinner.  This is when the inductees for the Women Divers Hall of Fame become inducted, The Legends of the Sea who is Ernie Brooks is announced, and the Diving Pioneer for the year, who is our very own Bob Hollis receive their awards.  This is a very special night for those who are receiving these awards.  It is a fun night for all who attend.

Both the A300 and A100 feature rich dive computers that come equipped with beautifully large, easy to read digits, and two rows of core information. An intuitive and easy-to-use “green, yellow, red” bar graph provides divers with a quick visual indication of nitrogen loading/unloading.

The A300 allows forward and backward navigation through a host of personal settings and options – and packs advanced features including Dual Algorithm® with Deep Stop, 2 Nitrox mixes to 100%, Audible Alarms, and Firmware Update (with optional interface cable) into a compact, rugged wrist computer.

The A100 is a solid basic computer designed for air or nitrox mixes. It displays only essential information during the dive in easy-to-read digits; uses color-coded bar graphs to present nitrogen loading and ascent rate; and offers useful features like an automatic safety stop countdown timer.

Introducing the best of both worlds. The innovative hybrid air cell design of the ATMOS allows the freedom of movement and other benefits you have come to expect from a rear-inflation BC. However, the unique wrap-around design provides you more lift than most BC’s; as well as an upright orientation when on the surface. The ATMOS offers multiple adjustment and attachment points, allowing customization of the BC specific to the divers needs. Six PADI instructors successfully went through a 5-hr program conducted by Rommy of IDTC. They were certified as Oceanic repair technicians, at the shop of our Guangzhou dealer.

Rommy was also invited by PADI to attend a diving manufacturer’s meeting on March 9, representing AUP products. PADI expressed wishes that all manufacturers and dive centers have good coordination and communication with PADI to help health development of the new and fast growing China diving market. According to PADI’s report, around 1,200 divers were certified in China regions in 2010-11, 1,900 divers in 2011-12, some 60% growth. But for Chinese divers certified in outside countries such as Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand are approximately up to 9,000 divers per year.
