The 2012 Guanzhou China dive show was held in Asia’s largest Exhibition centre, Pazhou Complex for 3-days, March 9-11. Our Oceanic booth was centrally located, featuring a highly professional image and product showcase during the show, with estimated 10,000 – 15,000 visitors mainly from within China.
Six PADI instructors successfully went through a 5-hr program conducted by Rommy of IDTC. They were certified as Oceanic repair technicians, at the shop of our Guangzhou dealer.
Rommy was also invited by PADI to attend a diving manufacturer’s meeting on March 9, representing AUP products. PADI expressed wishes that all manufacturers and dive centers have good coordination and communication with PADI to help health development of the new and fast growing China diving market. According to PADI’s report, around 1,200 divers were certified in China regions in 2010-11, 1,900 divers in 2011-12, some 60% growth. But for Chinese divers certified in outside countries such as Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand are approximately up to 9,000 divers per year.
