Dealer Profile: Coral Edge Adventures

Coral Edge Adventures (CEA) is striving to change the “dive shop” experience in the Mid-Atlantic. Their goal is to shift the paradigm for both “brick and mortar” dive stores and the online dive store experience.  CEA is striving to be competitive in the online sales arena not only in price but to also provide a service oriented experience to the diving community.  The staff is highly trained and knowledgeable so we can address most any question and provide a no pressure sales, training, and service  experience.  They have inventory on any product that they sell so that the buyer can purchase without the frustration of having to wait for the product to be shipped to the store and can “try-on” any product while they are in the store.

Coral Edge Adventures was recently approved for all of the AUP across the board, consisting of Oceanic, AERIS, and Hollis. When asked about how they position all of the AUP brands within their store they told us that its not about creating competition and putting them head to head. The AUP products complement each other nicely because each line has products with unique features that satisfy different customers. There is different diving everywhere which also creates the need for equipment that is designed better for certain terrains and situations. The interchangeability between the AUP brands is a selling point as it doesn’t keep you tied down to one brand. Coral Edge Adventures is used to the customers who are interested or prefer to blend their dive setup and do everything they can to cater to that process.

The large Virginia store is ready to handle any service needs including:  hyrotesting  in our large computer driven hydro test facility, regulator service and warranty work in a modern full service O2 clean testing facility which includes pressure calibrations and regulator bench testing and calibration, all types of tank service including O2 cleaning, wetsuit and drysuit repairs, but most important the customer can observe all of this service through large windows in the service areas. All regulators are pretested prior to work and are checked under a microscope to verify that  hidden issues do not go undetected and every regulator is cleaned to oxygen clean standards, then tested and calibrated before it is returned to the customer.

All of the air that goes into our cascade system is oxygen compatible air and is continuously monitored as it is being pumped to verify the quality of the gas. We employ the new Analox ACG continous sampling system , eliminating any air quality concerns that divers may have. We are fully certified to blend mixed gases including trimix, nitrox, and helitrox.
